Adrian Peterson's 2-Year-Old Boy 'Beaten To Death'

The two-year-old son of an NFL star Adrian Peterson has died after allegedly being beaten through the son's mother's boyfriend, authorities and media have said.

Joseph Patterson, 27, may be charged with the youngster's beating, and may face additional charges on the death.

The son's father Adrian Peterson in the Minnesota Vikings is probably the top running backs inside professional football.

The youngster, whose name has already been withheld, had been in infirmary in South Dakota because attack on Wednesday.

'All I could truthfully say is, we are obtaining prayers and for respect for the family as we handle this tragic situation,' Mr Peterson's father Nelson Peterson advised the St Paul Pioneer-Press.

In the Vikings locker space on Friday, Adrian Peterson wanted privacy, said he would 'stay prayed up', and told reporters he planned to play in Sunday's game contrary to the Carolina Panthers.

'Football is something I most certainly will always fall back on,' he said.

'It gets me through a down economy. Just being around the guys in here, that's what I want in my life, folks supporting me, and just to be able to go out and play this game I adore.'

According to Sioux Falls of South Dakota police, the boy was arrive at hospital on Wednesday, where authorities discovered he been injured in a way 'consistent with abuse'.

Mr Patterson had been looking after the boy and was the sole other person in the house when police and unexpected emergency medical workers arrived.

Mr Peterson, 28, is currently ranked 3rd inside National Football League (NFL) inside rushing yards.

Born inside Texas, he was drafted from the University of Oklahoma through the Vikings in 2007.
