Dana White Claims Chael Sonnen Vs. Rashad Evans

With rumors floating around with regards to a potential match-up between UFC lighting heavyweights Chael Sonnen and Rashad Evans, the UFC president Dana White weighed in about the topic on the UFC 164 post-fight indicate.

'That fight, I started talking to them about it several days ago in Indianapolis and we started talking about some other options as properly, ' said White. 'So I said let's shut this thing down and have through this weekend and let me get back to Vegas. Me, Lorenzo (Fertitta) and Joe Silva will take a seat and see what we want to do.

'It might happen, he continued. 'I don't detest it. '

Back in the actual Fox studio, Sonnen gave their side of events, saying that he and Rashad agreed to the actual fight, but didn't know if it had been official.

'I thought the Rashad Evans fight was likely going to happen and Dana White was quite candid together with you, ' Sonnen responded, partly tongue in cheek. 'He spoke to us both in Indianapolis several days ago, we agreed to the actual match, but perhaps it was just a little of dialogue and wasn't officially offered. '

Chael Sonnen is coming from a submission victory over Shogun Rua just last month in Boston, that snapped a two fight dropping streak, while Evans was last observed in the Octagon in June, whenever he was awarded a divide decision victory over Dan Henderson.
